Despite getting fired by Donald Trump earlier this year, Corey Lewandowski is still reportedly very close to the candidate.
In his new role as a CNN contributor, Lewandowski is on the airwaves defending Trump, and even making some anti-Trump types very mad.
So check out what he just tweeted:
Secret Ledger in Ukraine Lists Cash for Donald Trump’s Campaign Chief https://t.co/7bh7iIHHaY

Yep, that’s Donald Trump’s former campaign manager tweeting a New York Times investigation of Trump’s current campaign chairman.
According to the Times, Manafort has been, well, shady:
Handwritten ledgers show $12.7 million in undisclosed cash payments designated for Mr. Manafort from Mr. Yanukovych’s pro-Russian political party from 2007 to 2012, according to Ukraine’s newly formed National Anti-Corruption Bureau. Investigators assert that the disbursements were part of an illegal off-the-books system whose recipients also included election officials.
Anti-corruption officials there say the payments earmarked for Mr. Manafort, previously unreported, are a focus of their investigation, though they have yet to determine if he actually received the cash. While Mr. Manafort is not a target in the separate inquiry of offshore activities, prosecutors say he must have realized the implications of his financial dealings.
People definitely noticed Corey Lewandowski’s tweet.
It started with the “whoa” factor:

Continued with people calling it “too good”:
Seriously: Lewandowski tweeting a blockbuster Times piece about Manafort's Ukraine dealings is just too good. This election!

Someone pointed out that Lewandowski’s previous tweet was a retweet of Trump attacking the New York Times:

And @Popehat teased Manafort, saying “Mr. Lewandowski sends his regards:”
.@PaulManafort Mr. Lewandowski sends his regards.
— (((Popehat))) (@Popehat) August 15, 2016
Finally, Brian Fallon, Hillary Clinton’s campaign spokesman, proceeded to retweet Lewandowski, providing some icing on the cake.

It’s actually quite common for campaign staffers to quietly work against each other, particularly when one becomes an ex-staffer. But it’s rare for such an attack to be in public, rather than leaks to the press.
As with all things Trump, tonight we have new territory, and it comes via a Corey Lewandowski tweet on Paul Manafort.
How will Trump respond?
