Devin Nunes Is Sitting on the Secret Memo and Nobody Will Actually See It

It’s supposed to be this earth-shattering, proof-beyond-any-shadow-of-a-doubt that the FBI are the scourge of our society, secretly working to destroy Mom, America, and apple pie. More importantly, they’re out to destroy the embodiment of all things holy and good in this world – Donald Trump.

I’m speaking of the super-secret memo that everyone (especially the Russian Twitter bots) want to see released.

Devoted Trump lackey, Rep. Devin Nunes, is reportedly the author of the memo, cobbling together the anti-Trump texts of FBI agent Peter Strzok and his mistress, FBI attorney Lisa Page, into something sinister and mysterious.

House Republicans and those Russian bots have been pushing for the release of the memo, building up the anticipation to a riveting crescendo.

The scuttlebutt is that the memo will provide hard evidence that political bias at the top of the FBI prompted the investigation into Donald Trump’s team.

If it’s all that, let the FBI check it out, see what they’re being accused of.

Yeah, about that…

“The FBI has requested to receive a copy of the memo in order to evaluate the information and take appropriate steps if necessary. To date, the request has been declined,” Andrew Ames said in a statement.

They didn’t ask for the sole copy. They asked for “a” copy, and for some reason, Nunes doesn’t want them to see it.

Other Trump devotees are on their fainting couches, as well.

“You all need to see it,” said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who called it “alarming.” “More importantly, the American public needs to see it. What the FBI did is just as wrong as it can be.”

Yes. A man and his mistress shared the same kind of talk that can be seen on social media all day long. Absolute proof of Trump’s martyrdom.

Both Democrats and Republicans are calling it a “top line summary,” Democrats just don’t believe there’s proof of political bias.

“I think the whole political purpose of this is to make a misleading case to the public, perpetuate the president’s political narrative, but not let the public see the underlying materials that would show just how distorted it is — I think that’s by design,” said Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.), the top Democrat on the Intelligence panel.

“The problem is, we can’t point out the inaccuracies without relying on the underlying material,” he added.

He’s referring to further documents that lawmakers lack the level of clearance to view.

It all feeds into the alleged “witch hunt” of the Russia probe.

Did the Fusion GPS dossier prompt a FISA warrant to spy on Trump’s team during the transition?

You can’t convince Trump’s acolytes of anything else.

Others have suggested that those losing their minds over it lack an understanding of the law.

Meanwhile, Nunes and Republican lawmakers keep stoking suspicions and frothing up the base against our nation’s law enforcement agencies.

I guess it serves their purpose to break up our institutions.

Saturday Night Live’s Cold Open Tackles the Trump Physical Press Conference (and It’s Excellent)

You had to know that the folks over at Saturday Night Live were going to touch on the press conference given by Dr. Ronny Jackson, and his bizarre assessment of President Trump’s health.
In fact, Dr. Jackson, as played by cast member Beck Bennett, seemed unusually taken with the results of President Trump’s physical.

He takes Crestor – which is perfectly normal.
And he takes Propecia – as an inside joke.

He defined Trump as being a svelte 239 pounds, with a perfect 44-inch Coke bottle waist.

When asked the all important question, regarding Trump’s mental health and the cognitive exam taken, “Dr. Jackson” was asked if it was true Trump had scored higher than any other president.
Said the doctor: “In fairness, no other president has been given this exam. We typically only use it to make sure someone’s not severely brain damaged, or a monkey in people clothes.”
It was a hilarious and really captured the “odd” spirit of Jackson’s press conference.

Illinois Democrat Luis Gutiérrez Is Ready for a Border Wall

Well, this is a shocker.

Kind of.

One of the most fierce, open-borders warriors, Chicago Rep. Luis Gutiérrez, is ready to give up and give in to allowing for Trump’s magical, mystical, mystery wall – if Trump will agree to amnesty new protections for the “Dreamers.”

Speaking on Saturday, he suggested that he’s not just willing to give Trump that wall, but he’d pitch in and help build the thing.

“I’ll take a bucket, take bricks, and start building it myself,” Gutiérrez told reporters in the Capitol.

“We will dirty our hands in order for the Dreamers to have a clean future in America.”

Does Gutiérrez have a proper background in construction?

I don’t know, but his position is telling. It shows that there are some cracks in the Democrat armor. They’re feeling the pressure to get something done.

Getting past Trump’s hardline, alt-right base, who want a full wall, deportation, and absolutely no amnesty is going to be the real obstacle.

The concession comes as other Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.), have said they could agree to a wall in exchange for protection for the Dreamers, immigrants brought to the country illegally as children. Schumer has said he was close to a deal with Trump before the White House came forward with additional demands.

By “…White House came forward with additional demands” some are suggesting that the talks to avoid the shutdown that went on between Schumer and Trump were on the verge of a successful end, until Stephen Miller got in Trump’s ear and changed his mind.

Democrats overplayed their hand on Friday night, knowing any government shutdown would blow back on the party in control, right now. With midterm elections months away, it could spell bad news.

Some Republicans joined the Democrats in seeking to have DACA protections added to the spending bill, even though it’s not a spending item and it had a March 5 deadline before it had to be touched.

It was unnecessary.

“We have been, and we continue to be, willing to work together in good faith on immigration,” Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Saturday on the House floor.

And it’s not that Democrats are softening to the idea of a wall. You can believe there will be campaign ads for ages about any wall that may go up.

Gutiérrez pointed out that he sees the wall as an insult, but recognizes that to get protection for the illegals brought here as children, some allowances need to be made.

“For me, why don’t you just take your middle finger and point it at Mexico? … Because it’s the same thing,” he said. “I really don’t believe that it’s about security. It’s about saying, ‘Brown people stay out of the country.’ And the president’s said as much.”

Gutiérrez said he sees the wall as a price the Democrats will have to pay to secure the DACA protections — one he’s now willing to pay.

“We’ve stopped arguing that it’s unnecessary, because it’s ransom,” he said.

Well, no. Ransom is when you hold somebody against their will and demand money for their return.

I’m almost positive nobody is holding any illegals here, and they would probably return them for free.

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and Illinois Senator Dick Durbin have a bipartisan bill that pairs tougher border security measures with DACA protections. It’s up for a vote on February 8.

It has to get past the House Freedom Caucus, however.

Trump has said that he needs the support of both Rep. Mark Meadows and Senator Tom Cotton before he’ll agree to sign anything.

“The president has consistently said that he wants to make sure Tom Cotton and I can embrace a deal that he cuts,” Meadows said Friday. “And I trust him at his word.”

Hardliners on both sides are keeping things from moving forward.

Gutiérrez further suggested that the bill offered by Graham and Durbin should have included more, in order to entice the president over to their side.

“I don’t know why the president, when Durbin and Graham walked it, why he didn’t just say, ‘Double it, and I want it in the first year,’ ” Gutiérrez said.

Because he’s got somebody else in his ear, telling him what to do.

“Done. Let’s move forward.”

Maybe. In the meantime, keep your bucket and your bricks handy.

In Pursuit of Higher Office, Joe Arpaio Hopes to Get Past That Criminal Conviction Thing

This is the guy who looked shocked to discover on TV that his pardon meant that he was guilty of the charge he was being pardoned from.

That’s right, Arpaio. You can’t get pardoned if you’re innocent.

And now Joe Arpaio, the octogenarian former Maricopa County, Arizona sheriff is hoping to get that contempt of court conviction removed from his record.

It probably has nothing to do with the fact that he has recently tossed his hat in the ring to run for one of the soon-to-be-vacant Senate seats.

Local Arizona news station KTAR reported Friday that Arpaio has filed an appeal with the U.S. District Court, arguing that Judge Susan Bolton “refused to give the Sheriff a trial by jury,” and that her “verdict was completely unsupported by the evidence, among numerous other reasons” when she found him in contempt of court for refusing to stop racially profiling Hispanic people at traffic stops for immigration checks.

In October, following a presidential pardon of the sheriff, Bolton accepted that Arpaio would not face sentencing but did not vacate her ruling that found Arpaio guilty.

Arpaio, a dedicated Trump supporter, is also a premiere “birther,” having pulled one publicity stunt after another, in search of that ever-elusive “real” birth certificate of former President Barack Obama.

At nearly 85 years old, however, he feels a new career path is in order.

“I have a lot to offer. I’m a big supporter of President Trump,” he told The Washington Examiner last week.

Seriously. Is that your sole qualification?

Nobody answer. I know that’s really the only qualification that matters in this current political climate.

“I’m going to have to work hard; you don’t take anything for granted. But I would not be doing this if I thought that I could not win. I’m not here to get my name in the paper, I get that every day, anyway,” he said.

Yeah, but not always for good reasons. I think that’s the part you’re brushing over.

Arpaio is vying to compete for Senator Jeff Flake’s seat. Whether this becomes another Roy Moore moment depends on if he can get past Dr. Kelli Ward and Arizona Rep. Martha McSally.

Currently, McSally holds a slight lead in the 3-way race, with Arpaio’s entrance serving as a foil to Ward’s ambitions.

Potentially Explosive Details Revealed in Fusion GPS Co-Founder’s Testimony Transcript

This week, the House Intelligence Committee agreed to release the transcripts from the November 14, 2017 testimony of Glenn Simpson, co-founder of Fusion GPS.

Fusion GPS, as we all know, is the research firm employed to gather research on Donald Trump during the 2016 election cycle – first by conservative news site, The Washington Free Beacon, and then picked up by the Clinton campaign.

There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the dossier produced through those efforts. Some details have been proven, some disproved, and others remain unsubstantiated.

Whatever the case, Republican lawmakers insist an unsubstantiated dossier was the sole impetus for the ongoing probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election, as well as possible collusion by Trump’s team, and they want the investigation shut down.

Democrats, predictably, want to push further, desperate to prove that they didn’t make a bad decision by installing Hillary Clinton as their hand-picked candidate for the presidency.

Then there are those who are standing in between, with suspicions, and maybe some doubts, but who ultimately want to hear everything and get to the truth.

That would be where I’m at, actually.

And speaking of everything, what do the released transcripts of Simpson’s testimony reveal?

Keeping in mind that this was Simpson speaking about what his firm suspected, the transcripts show that there was suspicions of something beyond just an election.

“Those transcripts reveal serious allegations that the Trump Organization may have engaged in money laundering with Russian nationals,” Representative Adam Schiff said.

May have.

And honestly, the rumors of Trump and his organization being neck-deep in dealings with the Russian mob have been around for years. These aren’t campaign-generated accusations. Talk to longtime residents of New York and New Jersey and you get the impression that it’s a badly kept secret.

So what brought Simpson and his company to suspect such nefarious activities?

In his testimony, Simpson said that his firm closely examined sales of condominiums in Trump properties in New York, Miami, Panama City and Toronto.

“There were a lot of real estate deals where you couldn’t really tell who was buying the property,” Simpson said. “And sometimes properties would be bought and sold, and they would be bought for one price and sold for a loss shortly thereafter, and it really didn’t make sense to us.”

“We saw patterns of buying and selling that we thought were suggestive of money-laundering,” he continued.

The Trump Organization’s chief counsel, Alan Garten, claims that the properties referenced by Simpson were simply properties Trump had licensed his name to, rather than having any substantial interest in.

“These accusations are completely reckless and unsubstantiated for a multitude of reasons,” Garten said.

“These issues have nothing to do with the scope of the investigation” by the House intelligence committee, Garten said in a phone interview. “But it’s not surprising the minority (Democrats) would focus on this given they’ve found absolutely no evidence of collusion.”

He’s not wrong. I don’t think the ongoing Russia probe was meant to target potential criminal activity, such as money laundering. I do believe, however, that if money laundering or any other criminal activity is swept up in the ongoing investigation, it could certainly go to motive.

Simpson’s testimony also revealed suspicions that Russia sought to infiltrate U.S. politics through powerful lobbies, such as the National Rifle Association.

I mentioned that situation earlier this week.

They also attempted to influence groups that promote independence for Texas and California.

“They seem to have made a very concerted effort to get in with the NRA,” Simpson said, according to the transcript.

So where do we go from here, given this information?

We keep digging.

This shouldn’t be considered a partisan issue. It should raise enough concerns that responsible American citizens want to know everything, before making a decision.

YIKES! Jared Kushner’s German Bank Account Flagged

Nope. Nothing to see here, I’m sure.

Ok. Maybe something, but we don’t know exactly what. Given all that’s going on with the Russia probe and special counsel Robert Mueller’s deep dive into potential money laundering, this could definitely catch his attention.

A Deutsche Bank account linked to Trump son-in-law and senior advisor Jared Kushner has been flagged for what they’re calling “suspicious transactions.”

Officials at the German bank told Manager Magazinas reported by English-language outlets, that a review of company accounts related to the Kushner family was sent to a German bank regulator for further investigation. Information may also be released to special counsel Robert Mueller‘s federal probe.

So here’s what we do know.

In December, officials with the U.S. attorney’s office in the Eastern District of New York had subpoenaed the bank for records related to Kushner.

That wasn’t necessarily related to Mueller’s probe.

What we don’t know is what is meant by “suspicious transaction.” It may not be connected to Kushner directly.

Kushner’s attorney, Abbe Lowell isn’t responding to inquiries, at this time.

So will Mueller pick this up? He has reportedly been looking at Trump’s transactions with the bank. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone if the next thing we hear is that Mueller is on the case.

Senator Rand Paul’s Attacker Charged With a Federal Crime

This is good news.

Remember Rene Boucher?

Boucher is the lunatic who blindsided Senator Rand Paul back on November 3, 2017 as he mowed his lawn, breaking 6 ribs in the process.

He’s been charged with a federal crime, according to the Department of Justice.

Rene A. Boucher, 58, of Bowling Green, Ky., has been charged with assaulting a member of Congress, resulting in personal injury, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana Josh J. Minkler announced.

While Boucher has signed a plea agreement, no date has been set for him to enter his guilty plea, the DOJ said.

He faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, the DOJ said.

According to court documents, Boucher said that he saw Paul stacking brush and had “had enough.”

He charged onto Paul’s property and tackled him.

Seriously messed up, considering Paul was stacking the brush on his own property.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky, which would normally handle the case, recused itself, leaving it instead to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in southern Indiana.

Apparently, there was bad blood between the neighbors for some time. Senator Paul said that at the time of the attack, the two had not spoken in nearly a decade.

Speaking with Fox News shortly after the attack, Paul stressed that there really wasn’t an acceptable excuse. And there wasn’t.

“After my ribs were broken, then he said things to me to try to indicate why he was unhappy but I think the, I guess to me the bottom line is it isn’t so important — if someone mugs you is it really justified for any reason?” Paul said.

Senator Paul was also on the ballfield in Alexandria, Virginia, back in June 2017, when a deranged Democrat, James T. Hodgkinson, opened fire.

The ambush left 4 injured, including Rep. Steve Scalia. Hodgkinson was killed when a Capitol policeman returned fire.

That’s two violent attacks in a the same year that Senator Paul has experienced.

“My colleagues come up all the time, and they want to make sure that there is some kind of deterrent because people don’t want to think that it’s open season on our elected officials,” Paul said in an interview with CBS News this month.

“So yeah, I’ve been involved in violent attacks twice in the last year. And so, we’re very aware of it.”

Hopefully, Boucher is used as an example. What he did was wrong and there needs to be consequences.

New Fear Over Former White House Aide and Possible Secret White House Recordings

When she was booted, she left angry and scorned.

That’s Omarosa Manigault Newman, the reality star who was brought in work as a communications aide for Trump’s White House.

A new report is suggesting that the recent directive that bans personal cell phones in the White House was prompted by Omarosa, and her habit of using her phone to record conversations.

According to the NY Daily News:

“Everyone knows Omarosa loves to record people and meetings using the voice notes app on her iPhone,” a source disclosed. “Don’t be surprised if she has secret audio files on everyone in that White House, past and present staffers included.”

A recent ban on personal cell phones in the West Wing, which followed the release of Michael Wolff’s explosive White House tell-all was related to Manigault-Newman’s track record of recording conversations, the source added.

The word is, she’s afraid of being jacked up by special counsel Robert Mueller and she wants those recordings as backup.

Others are saying that there’s nothing she would have been privy to that would be of interest to Mueller or his team.

They may be right, as the previous word is that nobody was really sure what it was she did, anyway. She was just there because she was one of Trump’s reality TV clingers.

There’s definitely a book deal in the works, however. It’s estimated that she could get around $10 million for her tell-all. After seeing how well Michael Wolff’s book on the administration has done, she’s probably salivating at the thought of her own future success.

The soon-to-be former assistant to President Trump and director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison has held exploratory meetings with several high profile attorneys for potential representation, a source told The News.

Manigault-Newman has met with Harvey Weinstein’s former attorney Lisa Bloom and former Bill Cosby lawyer Monique Pressley, among others.

I’m not sure either could adequately represent her should she get called by Mueller, but this is more about pushing the book, I suspect.

If Omarosa’s job was more like a fly-on-the-wall (as Wolff has described his own presence in the White House), then maybe she’ll have something juicy for her book.

Maybe there’s a little meat left on the bone that Wolff seems to have picked clean.

There may even be something Mueller cares about.

We’ll see.

Elites Gather at Mar-a-Lago to Celebrate Trump’s First Year

No. Not even a smidge of racism or elitism, here.

President Trump is off on another lavish, taxpayer-funded stay at his Mar-a-Lago estate for the weekend.

Aaahhh… the privilege of a king.

Meanwhile, on Thursday night, the sycophants paid top dollar and gathered at the resort to pay homage.

In a celebration of his first year in office (YES… ANOTHER one), the wealthy gathered and partied.

The event was called “Red, White, and Blue Celebration,” and was hosted by the leadership of the “Trumpettes,” socialites who worked to bring in the female vote for Trump during the election.

Among those present and speaking at the event was one of Trump’s most ardent Fox News propagandists, Judge Jeanine Pirro.

Pirro probably best exemplified the attitude of the event, as she took to the stage to address the latest Trump-media mess: sh*thole countries.

Standing on stage, Pirro flaunted the arrogance of the elite:

“Welcome to Mar-a-Lago, a magnificent place. It sure ain’t no sh*thole,” Pirro said, referring to Trump’s comments on African countries.

Newsflash, you petulant shrew: Some so-called sh*tholes are gilded palaces, full of human refuse in expensive garb. I think you’re blinded to your surroundings.

It’s the tone-deaf arrogance that Trump and his supporters display that has elevated the level of what is just wrong about Trump’s original statement.

I don’t have a problem with anyone succeeding and doing well. Kudos to them all! What I do have a problem with is when someone is so puffed up because of their wealth that they actually do feel their circumstances make them superior to those of lesser means.

Circumstances, such as wealth, are like shifting sands, and can change in a flash. A bit of grace might be in their best interest.

But these are a graceless people. Trump has made incivility and cruelty the new hotness.

Pirro went on to defend Trump.

“I love Donald Trump,” she said. “He’s the least racist man I’ve ever met, but I must tell you, race has always been an issue for Donald. Donald is always in a race — in a race against time, in a race against competitors, in a race against corruption, in a race against crime, and a race against terrorism.”

I have a feeling Pirro isn’t hanging in the slums with the commoners often, so her circle of experience may be limited. Trump may just be the least racist man she’s ever met. That doesn’t say a lot about her circle of friends.

To add to the ridiculousness of the night, because Trump was not present (he arrives tonight), they set up a cardboard cutout of he and Melania, so that the attendees would have at least a shadow of their idol to bow before.

Maybe at the next orange mass they can have a cutout of Stormy Daniels by the stage.

Trump, of course, will be holding another celebration on Saturday evening.

He will mark the first anniversary of his inauguration with a party at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday night, where couples paid at least $100,000 for dinner and a photo op with Trump. Others could pay $250,000 to sit in on a roundtable with Trump.

It’s good to be king.

Latest: Trump Attorney Took Careful Steps to Conceal Payoff of Porn Star Fling

The Wall Street Journal is giving more details on the premarital affair between Donald Trump and the porn star, Stormy Daniels (real name: Stephanie Clifford).

No, I’m not talking about anything from the 2011 interview, like today’s little nugget: Trump asked Daniels to spank him with a Forbes Magazine.

Today’s reveal is in regards to the alleged hush money payoff from October 2016. Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, used a private company and a pseudonym to make the payment.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Cohen used Essential Consultants LLC, to send a lawyer representing the actress who calls herself Stormy Daniels $130,000 as part of a non-disclosure agreement concerning her relationships with Trump, who has been married to first lady Melania Trump since 2005. Cohen represented the Trump Organization at the time.

In making the transaction, both Cohen and Daniels’ lawyer used pseudonyms, according to the Journal. The deal allegedly occurred in October of 2016, just weeks before voters headed to the polls.

And of course, Cohen and Trump are falling all over themselves to say it didn’t happen, no matter what Trump’s long history of womanizing may be.

The payoff came in the midst of an avalanche of allegations of sexual misconduct. Over a dozen women came forward to accuse then-candidate Trump of past inappropriate behavior – ranging from uninvited, rough kissing, to walking into the dressing rooms of contestants in the beauty pageants he owned, as they were in various stages of undress.

It was also after the 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape gave everybody an audio confession of just how disgusting and misogynistic Donald Trump is.

Daniels was about to become one more woman telling her Trump tale on the talk show circuit when the payment was supposedly made.

Still, she’d already taken a polygraph test and passed, and given the interview to In Touch Magazine, 5 years earlier.

In the interview, Daniels revealed:

“[The sex] was textbook generic,” Daniels said. “I actually don’t even know why I did it, but I do remember while we were having sex, I was like, ‘Please, don’t try to pay me.’ ”

Daniels also told the publication that after the encounter, Trump kept saying: “ ‘I’m gonna call you, I’m gonna call you. I have to see you again. You’re amazing. We have to get you on ‘The Apprentice.’”

The affair was said to have gone on for more than just a single encounter. Several friends and her former husband all corroborate her story.

And yes, I’m shocked that Trump hasn’t taken to Twitter to say something about his sexual prowess, yet.
