Here’s Why the US Embassy to Israel Belongs in Jerusalem

The anti-Semites call it ‘meddling’ for the United States to put the Embassy to Israel in Jerusalem. Here’s why that’s a lie, and our embassy belongs there.

The Knesset, Israel’s legislature, which elects its executive, is in Jerusalem.

The executive itself, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is in Jerusalem.

The Presidential residence is in Jerusalem.

The Supreme Court of Israel is in Jerusalem.

The Central Bank of Israel, governing the New Shekel, is in Jerusalem.

Anything in the Israeli government that the US Government might wish to interact with diplomatically, exists in Jerusalem.

Therefore, the only rational place to put the US Embassy is in Jerusalem. Any other decision is driven by pure anti-Semitism.

United Nations Debates Vote to Condemn the United States

Today the United Nations General Assembly debates condemning the United States for pledging to move our embassy to the capital of Israel, Jerusalem.

Here is a live feed, via PBS and Youtube, of the speeches to the UN General Assembly ahead of the vote:

Israel’s emissary and Nikki Haley on behalf of the United States naturally have risen demonstrating history, demonstrating fact, and demonstrating the moral authority of our side. The “state of Palestine,” Turkey, Yemen, Venezuela, and others have risen with litanies of propaganda against Israel.

Should we drop funding for the United Nations if they come at us?

Republicans Officially Lose Virginia House Majority

The Donald Trump effect is on in Virginia as, after a bloodbath of an election night in November, Republicans have now officially lost the House of Delegates.

Going into the 2017 elections, Republicans held a supermajority in the House of Delegates. A 66-34 advantage ensured nothing would get done that Republicans did not want to have happen. But in the general election last month, Republicans got wiped out.

Sixteen Republican seats have now fallen. It was fifteen going into today but a recount in the 94th district (Newport News) was completed. On election night the count was 11,601 for Republican David Yancey, and 11,591 for Democrat Shelly Simonds. After the recount, the result flipped: Simonds won by one vote, 11,608-11,607.

Simonds represents the 50th vote for the Democrats, guaranteeing Republicans have lost control of the chamber, completing a historic wipeout of the party after only one year of the Trump Presidency.

BREAKING: House of Representatives Passes Tax Reform Package

The tax reform legislative process nears its conclusion as the House of Representatives just passed the conference report version of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) addresses the House of Representatives on December 19, 2017 in support of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Having rejected attempts by the Democrats to send the bill back to committee, and to reject the conference report, the final vote in favor of passing HR 1 was 227-203.

The final debate brought Speaker Paul Ryan to the floor, who said “I’ll remind everyone in the chamber that as Speaker, my minute lasts as long as I want it to last.” His minute may not have changed any minds at this point, not in these polarized times, but he has seen the bill through to its final passage from the House.

The centerpiece of the bill is of course the corporate tax reform, which brings the US tax rate in line with our global competitors, thus encouraging corporations to bring money home to invest in America (and pay taxes in America):

Here’s What Happens If Doug Jones Wins Tonight

Republican Roy Moore has a slim lead in the Alabama count to the moment, but heavy Democrat areas are left to count. If Democrat Doug Jones wins, here’s what’s going to happen.

This map by 538’s Nate Cohn is telling:

Major Democrat areas in Birmingham, Montgomery, Huntsville, and Mobile are still left to count, but Moore ‘s areas left to count are smaller than all of those. That doesn’t mean Jones is going to win, notwithstanding current New York Times projections, but it means Jones could win.

So I’m going to call it now, exactly what will happen if Jones wins. We’re going to hear it first on Prison Planet, then on Breitbart, and eventually it will trickle down to Fox News, but the theory will spread that the Democrats held back their precinct returns to find out how much Moore “won” by, and therefore manufactured fraudulent ballots in order to make up the difference.

It’s such an easy, unprovable conspiracy theory. They’ll point to existing examples of fraud in the past, in other places, as all the “proof” they ever need, and it will become a Known Fact™ that Roy Moore actually won, but he was cheated.

If Doug Jones wins tonight, Alabama will be the latest Stab in the Back theory that Trump hardliners will never stop whining about. I’m laying the marker now.

This Man Deserves a Raise More Than Anyone in America

You may have done your job well today, but this guy right here deserves a raise more than you do. More than anyone, for what he did Monday night.

A Walgreens clerk in Broward County Florida was just doing his job, ringing up ice cream and candy for a young man, when that man pulled out a gun and demanded money. The clerk’s response is unbelievable.

The clerk made a read of the would-be robber, made a decision, and that’s the result. Amazing.

Ajit Pai: This is What the Net Neutrality Fight Is All About

We’re being inundated with Net Neutrality agitprop as the FCC vote nears. Ajit Pai is here with what really matters: the truth about an open Internet.

The biggest threat to an open Internet isn’t the profit motive. It’s the censorship motive. The more we put the Internet in the hands of unelected, unaccountable regulators, the more we risk our Internet falling the way of China, Russia, Turkey, and Indonesia. A light touch is vital to keeping the Internet as open as it’s been, and Ajit Pai is on the case.

The “Title II Reclassification” power grab by the Obama FCC was unprecedented, unwarranted, and unsupported by legislation. That’s all Pai and the FCC are going to undo. We’re going to preserve the open Internet.

Every time FCC meddles, they pick winners and losers. By impairing customer choice (and yes, every single Internet monopoly out there is because of government intervention, not in spite of it), we make people worse off. We need government to get back out of the way, like it used to be:

So as we think about internet policy, we should look at the entire internet economy — not single out one part of it. And our aim shouldn’t be to pick winners and losers but instead to have consistent rules of the road. These rules should promote investment and innovation, protect internet freedom, and promote the market-based vision that’s served us so well for so long.

Investment and innovation are what made the commercial Internet a success. More please.

New Poll: Did Trump’s Support Help Roy Moore?

The election is approaching. Can Roy Moore seal the deal in what should be a Republican-friendly state?

Luther Strange to fill the U.S. Senate seat previously held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. (AP Photo/Brynn Anderson)

As much as we get caught up in the baseless allegations hurled at Roy Moore’s accusers, the election is coming. Donald Trump has gradually increased his support for Moore, after months of weak and hostile statements. But is it enough to give Moore a clear lead?

The new polls say no. The race is a toss-up. We’ve had four polls in the last five days, with no clear trend. Two of them were led by Democrat Doug Jones (Gravis has him up 4, and the Washington Post has him leading by 3). The other two gave Moore the lead (CBS has him winning by 6, and Emerson College gives him a 3 point lead).

The overall poll average gives Moore a faint 1.5 point lead. Moore’s last statewide race saw him win 52-48, but that was before the news broke of several women accusing him of making inappropriate advances on teenage girls as an adult in his 30s. It wouldn’t take much to turn that around and give the Democrat the edge.

Republicans had better get to work.

Ajit Pai DEMOLISHES Alyssa Milano’s Key Net Neutrality Talking Point

Far left celebrities have been hammering Ajit Pai and the FCC with extremist talking points, but Pai is slamming the door on them with the truth!

FILE – In this Feb. 26, 2015, file photo, Federal Communication Commission Commissioner Ajit Pai speaks during an open hearing and vote on “Net Neutrality” in Washington. Tech companies are readying for a showdown with a Republican-controlled government over threats to net neutrality, a key issue for them and their users. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais, File)

Unable to win on facts and logic, leftists like Alyssa Milano have been pushing conspiracy theories to try to discredit the legal, open process FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has been using to restore the open, lightly-regulated Internet.

So there you go, the theory is that there’s a Russian conspiracy to… deregulate American industry? I have no idea what the Russian incentive for that is supposed to be, but there you go. That’s the theory. Problem is, it’s not even true.

Wasted.

BREAKING: Flynn to Roll on Trump

This could be the big one.

If confirmed, this is the biggest revelation yet from the Robert Mueller investigation, which is already reported to be getting retired General Michael Flynn to plead guilty:

The wording of this release is important. It’s unclear now whether this happened before or after Donald Trump was inaugurated. The difference matters. Presidents get to conduct diplomacy in a way that others don’t.
