Water main break in Tahoka, boil water notice in effect

A large water main break has prompted the City of Tahoka to shut off water to make repairs. The City posted the message about the break on their Facebook page around 6:30 Wednesday morning.  A boil water notice is in effect until further notice. Copyright 2017 KCBD. All rights reserved.

Smiles for Soldiers awards veteran with free dental work

A local business is putting a smile on the face of a deserving veteran. Charles Martin, an Air Force veteran, is now the first recipient of Hill and Ioppolo Oral and Facial Surgeons of Lubbock’s Smiles for Soldiers program. They will perform a procedure that can cost upwards of $50,000 for free for Charles. Shots fired during fight at Hitching Post, woman injured in crossfire

One person is in the hospital after being shot in crossfire following an altercation at a club in east Lubbock. Police say they were called to the 1900 block of East Broadway after a fight broke out at the Hitching Post around 4:00 Friday morning. Authorities on the scene say the fight then spilled outside, and one woman was shot in the upper thigh during the altercation. That woman was taken to Covenant Medical Center. Southcrest Christian School celebrates Veterans

Southcrest Christian School honored veterans, grandparents, and their families at their 10th annual Veterans Day program. The ceremonies opened with the National Anthem and performances by the pre-k students. They also showed slideshows of students’ family members who are veterans or are currently serving in the armed forces.  Teachers say this is one of the best days of the year for this school, and its important for them to teach students about the sacrifice so many Americans…

LFR investigating fire at Boulders at Lakeridge Apartments

The Lubbock Fire Marshal is investigating an early morning fire at a local apartment complex. The fire started at the Boulders at Lakeridge Apartments near 82nd Street and Quaker Avenue.
