Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott made a stop in Lubbock Tuesday to promote foster care awareness and education in West Texas. 3 riders, 2 flags, 1 mission

A group of riders made a stop in Lubbock on their way to Arlington National Cemetery to honor our veterans.  The group that goes by the Black Sheep, Chapter 31 of the American Legion Riders, are on their fifth day of their trip from Salinas, California, to Washington, D.C. The riders are carrying two American flags, one which will fly over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Stars and stripes fly high in Kastman Park for annual flag field

Prosperity Bank, the City of Lubbock, and the Lubbock Independent School District are setting up flags for the 15th Annual American Tribute Flag Field at Kastman Park. The flags go up Friday, September 8th, and will stay up through September 14th. The Flag Field honors those who lost their lives in the tragedy on September 11th, 2001, and the military personnel and first responders who risk their lives to protect us. One person dead after pedestrian hit by vehicle in northwest Lubbock County

The Lubbock County Medical Examiner is on the scene of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on N Frankford Avenue and F.M. 1294 overnight. Police received the call just after 2:00 Thursday morning. There is no word so far on how many people were involved or if there are any deaths or injuries.
