Crews reactivating traffic light at 98th St & Tahoka Highway starting Monday

Starting Monday, April 24th, the traffic signals at 98th Street and U.S. Highway 87 (Tahoka Highway) will be reactivated to green-yellow-red mode, assigning right-of-way to users.  The vehicle detection systems at the interchange have been upgraded to reduce delays in the area. BREAKING: 3 families without homes after fire in central Lubbock

Firefighters were called out to a structure fire at 1708 18th street around 4:00 Friday morning. Heavy smoke can be seen throughout the building. BREAKING: Driver killed, passenger airlifted in rollover

The Department of Public Safety is working a single vehicle fatal crash just west of Abernathy. DPS says a pickup truck was traveling north on FM 2528, just north of CR 5100, when the driver over-corrected and rolled around 3:30 Thursday morning. The driver was pronounced dead and the passenger was aerocared to UMC with unknown injuries. DPS is not identifying either person at this time. Tahoka shutting off water temporarily Thursday for water line construction

The City of Tahoka will be connecting new water lines to existing water lines this Thursday, April 20th.  The water will be turned off at 9:00 am and will be off for approximately one to two hours. The city will also issue a Boil Water Notice at this time, until samples can be taken to the laboratory and be cleared.  The first work will be at the intersection of North 6th Street and Avenue J. Fire Marshal: fire started by gasoline container & burning incense damages home

According to the Lubbock Fire Department, LFR responded to a fire at 2909 E Broadway for a reported structure fire at 11:54 pm Sunday night. When crews arrived, they found a considerable amount of smoke and fire in the single-family home. Multiple injuries reported in 3-car collision

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a crash on TX 114 and FM 168 Tuesday morning. According to DPS, an 84-year-old woman from Levelland driving a Buick was attempting to turn left from the eastbound lanes of TX 114 onto FM 168 around 7:47 am Tuesday. Authorities say she failed to yield the right of way to a GMC pickup that was traveling westbound on TX 114. The pickup then crashed with the Buick, and the two vehicles traveled into a ditch near the westbound lanes …
