Crews respond to fire at mobile home in southeast Lubbock

The Slaton Fire Department has confirmed to KCBD they responded to a mobile home fire in southeast Lubbock around 1:30 Friday morning. Buffalo Springs and Woodrow also responded to the scene. The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office says they will provide more information on the incident at 8:00 am. Fire Marshal investigating early morning fire in central Lubbock

Crews are on the scene of a fire at 24th Street and Avenue U.  Scanner traffic indicates this is possibly a vacant, single-story home. We’re also hearing emergency crews received several calls from people nearby who are worried the fire could spread to their homes. There is heavy damage to the outside of the building. Water main break causes traffic problems at 49th & University

A water main break was reported around 10:00 Tuesday night near 49th Street & University Avenue. Northbound traffic was brought down to one lane as crews set up cones to deal with the issue. KCBD crews on the scene say a portion of the road appeared to have lifted up, and water was spilling out of it. Power outages reported from overnight storms

Several power outages are being reported following overnight storms across the South Plains. As of 4:43 am, Lubbock Power & Light’s outage map shows 44 customers affected by outages. Multiple injuries reported in crash on 58th & Ave V

Multiple people were taken to the hospital following a two-car crash in Central Lubbock early Tuesday morning. Just before 4:00 am, police say a white Pontiac and a Chevrolet Tahoe crashed on 58th Street near Avenue V. The Pontiac flipped on its side and the Tahoe ended up into the side of Oakwood United Methodist Church. A power pole was also knocked down.
